Another repost on behalf of the UK IUA

Registration for the UK IUA “Doing More with Even Less” 2009 Conference
in London on Tuesday, June 9 is now open.

Among the twenty or so sessions on offer in the afternoon Christine
Normile will run a breakout session to discuss the roadmap for Ingres
9.3, 9.4 and 9.5, and will include a brainstorming session with the
audience. Suggestions will be entered live into Service Desk so any
suggestions will get immediate management visibility and will have a
real chance of being implemented. These kinds of sessions always set
off storms of new ideas because people can collaborate, argue, and
explain in a way that is impossible otherwise.

Register at www.regonline.co.uk/IUA2009 (unless you are a speaker or
exhibitor*).

The plenary session this year features a record number of keynote
speakers, including Senior Product Manager Christine Normile giving a
briefing on new features in Ingres; SVP of Worldwide Engineering Bill
Maimone with what he promises will be an “eye-popping”(!) demonstration
of forthcoming features; Red Hat’s Regional Director for the UK Phil
Andrews; Alfresco Chief Marketing Officer Dr. Ian Howells, and Ingres
President and CEO Roger Burkhardt speaking on the New Economics of IT.

See the agenda at www.regonline.co.uk/IUA2009 for the rest of the
afternoon sessions.

*Speakers and exhibitors will be contacted separately with registration
instructions.

Roy Hann
Chair, UK Ingres Users Association

The content of my session was a high level overview with some simple examples thrown in for the non Embedded languages. Going into sufficient detail for all the languages we support in 35 minutes was not possible. There was a lot more I would liked to have spoken about.

As a follow up to a prior post you can now register to attend the (free as in beer) UK IUA spring conference. I will be presenting a session on the different languages you can interface with Ingres, entitled – No Speaky the COBOL? – Ingres can speak your language. If you do not like the idea of that then there are 19 other afternoon sessions to choose from spread across 5 streams… spoilt for choice.

The IUA is delighted to invite you to the one-day Ingres Users Association
Spring Conference on Wednesday 6th June at De Vere Holborn Bars, London.

You will learn, at first-hand, about the Technical Direction for the Ingres
products, the Evolution of Ingres’ Partner Ecosystem as well as Ingres’
strategy in the Business Intelligence and Performance Management
marketplace.

We have received a very strong response to our call for papers for the
event, so you can chose between twenty sessions across five afternoon
tracks.

As the last event was over-subscribed, you should secure your place NOW by
registering via the www.iua.org.uk.

Please do join us at 09:30 on Wednesday 6th June at De Vere Holborn Bars
when you can meet and talk with the most influential people in the Ingres
community throughout the day and evening.

To attend this FREE event – please register via the online IUA Registration
Form. If you experience any problems registering via the Internet site
please email your RSVP to:

conference at iua dot org dot uk (with the obvious changes to make this a
valid email address).
