Bouncy Bouncy : Dear Carlos….

Using a post to respond to an email is hardly an internet first but it is for me. I have been talking with Carlos, from Portugal, who is looking for a DLL of the latest Ingres PECL code for PHP 4.x. For those of you who would also like a copy – you can get it here (MD5sum).

Back to Carlos, for some reason, as of last night I have not been able to respond to his emails so here is my latest response…

Hi Carlos,

I should have mentioned the versions I was using. Yes I am using Ingres 2006 (II 9.0.4 (int.w32/105) to be precise). You will need to use that release as your Ingres client. Ingres 2006 can still talk with Ingres II 2.x. What you cannot do is have an Ingres II client running a DLL built for Ingres 2006.

grant

Subject: RE: Ingres for PHP4

Thank you for your kind assistance. I installed the extension and it asked me for the following files:

iigetver.dll
iilibadf.dll
iilibadfdata.dll
iilibapi.dll
iilibcompat.dll
iilibcompatdata.dll
iilibcuf.dll
iilibembed.dll
iilibembeddata.dll
iilibframe.dll
iilibframedata.dll
iilibgcf.dll
iilibgcfdata.dll
iilibq.dll
iilibqdata.dll
iilibutil.dll

I didn’t find them in the current setup. Then I downloaded the latest trial from ingres.com (INGRES 2006) and it had those files. I copied them to system32 but Apache crashes after they are loaded. Is the extension you compiled compatible with every ingres version? if not, I’m lost here because I can’t find the required files in Ingres II.

Thank you again

Carlos

I will keep trying to send the mail should you not read this …

¡Saludos!
