Ingres End of LifeCycle Support Announcement

Dear Valued Ingres Customer:
Ingres Corporation is continually working to provide the best quality software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In order to provide best-in-class software solutions, Ingres has defined a predictable Product Support Lifecycle Policy to give you plenty of lead time to plan and manage your upgrade and release processes. In accordance with that policy we are formally announcing the end of Ingres Enterprise Support Services for the Ingres Database 2.6 product release for all platforms as of December 31, 2009. This release will join previous versions of Ingres releases as functionally stabilized with no further Enterprise Support Services. Additionally, with the announcement of General Availability of the Ingres 2006 Release 2 for Alpha VMS on September 23, 2008, including the clustering solution, we are ending Enterprise Support for the 2.0 release of Alpha VMS on December 31, 2009.
If you have not already started to migrate to a newer release of the Ingres Database please review the information and features around the recently announced Ingres Database 9.2 release (rebranded from Ingres 2006 Release 3). Ingres 9.2 is the latest release of the Ingres Database product and continues the tradition of providing important new features to meet the demands of our customers and partners. After Enterprise Support Services end, if you wish to continue to be able to contact the Ingres Support Services team regarding your 2.6 or older installation, you will need to have an Extended Support contract in place. Telephone and web-based services with Ingres Support Services staff will only be available for Ingres 2.6 and older releases if you purchase an Extended Support contract.
